Upgrading from office97 to office 2000

I am going to be upgrading 22 accounting dept machines from office 97 to office 2000
and was wondering if anyone has come across any issues with this process and if anyone may have any helpfull pointers. What I am mainly worried about is any incompatibility issues with my access databases.

As far as Access goes, there are a lot of differences it seems between Access 97 using ADO and 2K using DAO (I think I have those right). I haven't had to upgrade, myself, but I have heard a lot of talk about it in another forum.

If you go to the Microsoft: Access - General discussion forum and post this same question, you will probably get all the information you need to make this work smoothly.

Ever notice that by the time that you realize that you ran a truncate script on the wrong instance, it is too late to stop it?

We recently upgraded our office suite. While we have a few minor compatability issues with Access, it went smoothly. Actually, our only issues are with the people still using 97. Your databases will work fine, but if you create something new w/ 2000, your users that still have 97 (if any) will have problems.

I guess it boils down to: Upgrade all your users, no matter how much they complain. Kevin

We also upgraded from 97 to 2000. I had to redo a couple of the databases so they would work.

Basically though, if you have a dim statement for the database, just change it to dim db as dao.database and it will work fine.
