Upgrading from Excahnge 5.5 to 2000 on new server

What would be the best method for porting over all the mailboxes from exchange 5.5 to a new install on a new pc with Exchange 2000?

Probably to use the Move Mailbox option under Exchange Tasks under AD Users & Computers. You can do several at a time, but I beleive the users have to be logged off first.

If you have the $$ - I would suggest you purchase Exchange Migrator from NetIQ. I did my Exchange conversion over the weekend and it went very well. Check your data store. Keep in mind Exchange 2000 takes your Priv.edb and Pub.edb and combines them into 1 database with a limit of 16gb. I have a small company, 52 users migrated and we hit the limit. hope this helps and good luck.
