My company is upgrading from Crystal 8.5 to 9.0 and I was wandering if anyone knows if 8.5 and 9.0 can run on the same box? Thanks in advance!!

Yep, but I believe the 8.5 help files might not work anymore. And be aware that 8.5 reports opened and saved in 9.0 won't work back in 8.5.

Thanks for the great information! One more thing though, do you know where I can find documentation that states Crystal 8.5 and 9.0 can run on the same box. I've looked through the Crystal Decision website and can't find anything. Thanks!

This is the only thing I can find where they say it's possible.
Where it says...
Code:
====================
NOTE:

Crystal Reports 8.5 and Crystal Reports 9.2.2.630 can be installed on the same computer simultaneously, allowing you to save reports to CE 8.5 and CE 9 from one computer.

We just went from 8.5 to 9.0. And yes you can run both on the same box, however if you're a big UFL user you can't run UFL's
on a machine that has both versions. Also once converted from
8.5 to 9 you can't use 8.5 to open again -
Overall not a awful experience, but the differences between 8.5 & 9 can be pretty significant in look/feel & operation. You do gain functionality but some of the improvements at first seem cumbersome and take a bit to get used to especially for company
users who are more basic users.
