Can anyone provide us with the detail instructions on how to install the upgrade? We used to have the upgrade installed by our software partner, but we would like to install the upgrade ourself this time. Thanks............

1. Install the programs
2. Backup your data
3. Login to each company and activate all the modules

Thank for your response.

Do I have to uninstall V5.4 after installing V5.5 & activating all the modules?

Print out the installation documentation. It gives very detailed steps and they work. Unlike previous verions you need to do module posting and day end processing. Always do a data dump of all systems and companies before you start the upgrade!!!

I'd successfully installed V5.5. When I tried to open my company, the following error message appeared:

Cannot access database (Error = 40962)

I can't even open the company, not to say about activating System Manager, GL & AP.

Can you help?

Thank you very much in advance.

This may sound really stupid. How do I install the database?

I was using V5.4A before & I did a database dump before installing the upgrades.

Thanks.

Well, "40962" usually means you don't have a database client installed. What database are you running (exact version and service pack)?

I am running the PSQL V9. I upgraded to this version when I upgraded to ACCPAC V5.4A back in August, 2006. I have not done any update since then.

Thanks.

9.0, 9.1, 9.5, or 9.6? The latter would be best, you can get the service pack from your Accpac reseller.

Remember to install the FTF files for P9.5 as well as the hotfix, or install the P9.6 hotfix if you upgrade to 9.6
