Upgrading from Accpac 5.2 TO 5.x

Hi

Our organization is thinking of upgrading from 5.2. According to our VAR we are eligible for a free upgrade to 5.4 (and of course an exorbitant fee to do it).
So 2 questions:

1) Is it worth it to go to 5.4 instead of 5.5? If so are there people out there who have done themselves. I want to do most (if not all) of the work ourselves. Any advice?

2) Is going from 5.2 to 5.5 worth the price...especially in these tough times? What would we be losing out by not going to 5.5?

1. At this point, you might as well get current. Going from 5.4 to 5.5 doesn't take long at all. 5.2 to 5.4 is what will take a longer time, there are a lot of database changes.

2. Read the Update PDFs for each module, only you can answer that question.
