Any issues I should be aware of or check into before starting this upgrade?

My suggestion would be to do the "migration" upgrade, this way you will not loose any of your data.
/etc/rc is overwritten, so if you have anything set to start at system boot, you will have to put it back in. Other than that, there are no significant changes that you should worry about, that I'm aware of.

thread52-66399 Search old records for migration .........or
See previous thread above...make sure you do the pre and post checks as well...
Make sure all of the user definitions are correct in the user database:

#usrck -n ALL

Do the same for the groups:
#grpck -n ALL
Do an lppchk -v and lppchk -c
before you even start...
and have a good mksysb and a paper copy of all your setup just in case.
