Situation:
We are currently planning to upgrade our disater recovery scheme from 11d to 12d. The first part of the project is to convert the xchange backup from a different vendor to BUExec 12d, using the CPS. The server agent and Exchange agents have been purchased.
Scenario:
We don't have $3500 to send me to "Upgrade from 11d to 12d" training. I've upgraded to different versions before, but I've never used the CPS aspect. Also, this server will be a stand alone, not part of a cluster or group. We do B2D with a tape copy. There will be two other servers later this summer upgrading to 12d,and all 3 servers have their own tape drives.
Main question:
What do I need to look out for when I upgrade the first server due?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

BE has always been a complete reinstall since the Seagate days. Yep, Blow it out and start fresh. When uninstalling 11d it asks you if you want to keek the log database. This might keep your log files. Don't take a chance and backup your BEDB files and catalog.

Symantec says 11-12 will be okay,...10 to 11 no.

Good luck, Symantec isn't Veritas anymore,..the advanced HD support in Eugene OR, and Austrailia is good but can't keep up.
