Upgrading Flash on a Client Software Application

Is it possible to upgrade the version of Flash used with an application? Upgrading the systems version of Flash has no effect but I'd really like to take the software from using version 8 to version 9. Thanks for any help. Let me know if you need more info.

Not sure if that can be done, but AVM1 which plays AS1/2 movie in Flash 9 player is the same as Flash player 8, so if you are testing AS1/2 movie there is no difference between Flash player 8 and 9.
