I found this forum a few weeks ago, and have really enjoyed browsing the discussions. It's nice to get my head out of the books and see real world scenarious. Every time I browse the forum I learn something new!
Ok...here's the deal -- I have a Cisco CPA2501 running IOS 11.1(5); IOS filename cpa25-i-l. Just for clarification purposes (since I've seen lots of discrepancies over terminology on the web) this in not a Cisco adapter card...it has the same appearance as the regular Cisco 2501 except for color. I purchased the 12.0(6) ip feature pack over the web (wrapped up brand new, but really inexpensive). There is an upgrade utility called "cpa25-upgrade-1.112-3.p" on the disk that is supposed to upgrade the router to a regular Cisco 2501 so that it can run regular Cisco IOS software. I followed all instructions provided with the feature pack in order to perform the upgrade from cpa2500 to c2500 only to receive a message "CiscoPro Hardware requires CiscoPro software." The IOS loaded up but the router still thinks its a CPA despite the fact that I ran the upgrade utility, and therefore will not run the image. Obviously, the upgrade program is not working. I'm thinking that this upgrade utility may not work unless I have IOS 11.2(3)already on the router. Is this correct? I cant find anything on the cisco site or on the web that addresses (in any kind of detail) how this upgrade process works.
If anyone has any ideas or tips that could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!!!
