Guys, recently I've added a new value to category's attribute. As you may know, after the addition, I need to upgrade items on the category's volume so the attribute value will reflect in all items using that category.

I have about 60,000 docs to be updated and it takes so long to finish the process. As admin, I've also tried to upgrade manually from certain folders, but when the users access the folder's category, it doesn't reflect my changes. Why this happens? Is there any alternative ways to upgrade the category?

Thanks,

60000 docs is not a huge number.I will be concerned if they were in the millions. There is a key in opentext.ini that is called categoryNumToUpgrade=5 this means that the process will do 5 items at a time so divide by 60000 to arrive at a time estimate. There is no harm in bumping that value to say 100 on the admin server and leave that browser session running on that server. If you do not have separate servers then this process will be dedicated on a thread so users will suffer.Other factors that might do you no good is if your new attrib is mandatory then I don't think there is a way that your doc objects get that info. They may skip the upgrade. That used to be the behaviour not sure if the newer versions do differently

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
