Has anyone had a issue upgrading a single BPS2K switch with the new image file (2.5.1.0 ) after they had upgraded the Bin file.
Here is what i notice after i download the bin file ( bps2kdiag_2503.bin) and then attempt to download the image file to the switch i get a "error reading" message .
I am able to download the image file 10 minutes after i have downloaded the bin file.
Is there a bug here ?

I confirmed again that this is a persistent upgrading problem ,
I waited another 10 minutes and then the Image file took.

On the pure BPS2k and a hybrid stack i don't see this problem .

Hello, I always upgrade the .img file first. After the swith boots, then i upgrade the .bin file! Try to do that!
Here is working fine.

I believe that i did try to download the image file prior to the Bin file and i had the same results.
Can you confirm that on the ISVN 1 images the bin must be downloading prior to the image file and on the ISVN 2 images it does not matter what file is downloading first.

You are right, does not matter the sequence of downloading. Even on ISVN 1 and 2. But the manual says to download first the operational software image. What version are you using before the upgrade?

Hello, i downgraded a BPS to the same version that you are using with the same diag file. Then, i downloaded the bps2k251s_1.img. Via console, i realized that the BPS was stucked. I powered off and on the BPS so, it worked again. After that i downloaded the bps2kdiag_2503.bin file, waited almost 3-5 minutes and the BPS worked fine. Note that this delay occurs when you are upgrading from one version to another.I have some questions:

- Are you upgrading your BPS via WEB interface?
- Are you sure your TFTP server is ok?
- Are you sure you are putting the right name of the image file, and this file is in the tftp?
- Are you with or without cascading module?

Here is the scenario

I am going to remotely upgrade 30 to 40 switches ( BPS2K &450 ) sometime this week and i have a tftp server ( solarwinds 2001 tftp server ) running on the remote site so that the i can pull the files local to the network.

I am not dowloading the secure shell file image(bps2k251s_1.img) rather the bps2k251_0.img because i read in the Nortel update notes that the Secure shell file disables the console port.

I have done numerous of upgrades with earlier images but on this image i would just like to know why there is such a long time between downloading the files.
If i am upgrading from a remote site i don't have the luxuary of pulling the power to get the second file to come up quicker.
I only find this a problem with A SINGLE BPS2K SWITCH , i do not have a delay between files when i have a pure BPS2K or a hybrid stack ( BPS2K,450 )
I will leave myself a bit of dignity and not comment if i am putting in the right files.
Oh i have tried the Bin first then i tried to inverse the order ..same result.
I don't use the web interface.

ok, i have bps2k251s_1.img running here in a single BPS and i have console access. I know it happens using the bps2k250_40.img and bps2k250_41.img! Try to read the Addendum to the Release Notes (210676-W).
Sorry for asking stupid things, but you know, sometimes.....
Because if you use the Web Interface and you misstype the name of the image, the message is "error reading".
