Upgrading a BCM1000 to a BCM 400

Can a BCM 1000 be upgraded to a BCM 400 using the existing cabinet? I don't believe the 1000 can be expanded using the expansion cabinet. Can someone confirm this?

You can not upgrade a BCM 1000 to a BCM 400 as that is a phyiscal thing, but you can upgrade a BCM 1000 to software Rls 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 or 4.0

Thanks for your reply, Acewarlock. I have seen in your past posts that you maintain many BCM's. Do you have any BCM 1000's with the expansion cabinet (BCM1000e)?

I have done a lot of service calls at Costco's and a lot of the older ones have 1000's wit expansion cabs.

A ship in the harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are for.

I recently upgraded a BCM 1000 to 4.0, and I have an expansion cabinet on my unit also. Mine started out 2.5, the I did the upgrade to 3.6 that required a new hard drive, and new flash cards. That was a year ago. Last month I upgraded to 4.0. I like element manager interface much better.

Yes I have about 10 BCM 1000's that have the Expansion Cabinet and about 5 BCM 400's that have it, they work great.
