Hi,

i have been asked to do an upgrade of a master/media server from 3.4.1 to 4.5mp6. Is there anything that i need to be aware of?
I am running on solaris 7. Will the pkgrm strip out all of my policies as well?

Also, would you recommend staying at 4.5mp6, or moving on to version 5?

Thanks

Rich

When using the pkgrm be sure to answer "yes" when it asks you if you are doing this uninstall so you can upgrade.

Copy the bp.conf, vm.conf, and any performance tuning "touch" files before you uninstall. Copy these files to another location like /var/tmp.

I would recommend either going to FP4/FP5. FP6 has been buggy as 4 and 5 are more stable.
