Hi,
I was running Win2K Pro and it is getting troublesome.
I decided to upgrade to XPPro. Upgrade was successful, captured all my software and hardware but:
Before anything, I did an image of C: with Powerquest Drive Image 2002. In the end, I returned to Win 2K.
1) Easy CD Cretor 5 Platinum, latest version, doesn't work. This is not a problem, I have Nero, which works, and I can uninstall ECDCreator and install again.
2) More serious, when I double click "My Computer" on the desktop or in Windows Explorer, the computer stays forever searching with that yellow/red flashlight and doesn't find the several partitions (C to F in HD 1 and H to L in HD 2; G is CDROM)in the second HD. The second HD disappeared. Already went to the Bios and it is there, all right.
In Windows Explorer, I can find the partitions of the first HD only.
Can't afford to format C and do a clean install because it would take a week to have all my programs running again (10 GB installed on C).
The interesting thing is that the upgrade ran smoothly all the time. No error messages appeared.
Does anyone have a clue or a method to do a troublefree upgrade from Win 2K?
Best regards,
