I've lost the ability to attach shortcuts with my recent upgrade to Outlook 2002. Is there a mail or security setting that I'm missing? Thanks....

What kind of shortcuts? Just a .lnk file? I have no problem doing so on 2002 but maybe I am not doing exactly what you are trying.

Is there a message you receive when you try your operation?

I've found out that security in outlook 2002 will not allow you to attach a shortcut to a file. Microsoft's work around is to attach a hyperlink (ie: file:\server\file). I've also found out that you can hack the registry to try to fix this, but I still don't have the option of (Insert File as Shortcut). This is what I'm trying to accomplish, but it looks as if I'm going to have to revert to Outlook 2000.

Anything higher than Outlook 2000 SR-1 is going to have the same issue. Even OL2000 SR-1a has the issue. That's when Microsoft "improved" security.

Cheers.

You can send OUTLOOK folders as a shortcut..any help?...or do you mean just a normal file on your PC?
