The organisation has upgraded to Office 2003 (a week ago!!!) and the Access databases now will only allow one user at a time. I have checked the options and they are set to Shared and locking to records.

It worked with no problems before the update. I have done a fix at the moment by copying the system 6 times and getting each person to use a different copy. They are all linked to the same data so it works.

There should be about 15 users so most users have now lost their Access to the system until the problem is solved. It is very frustrating as it has now been in use for 2 years and was working really well.

Have you got a split database with each user having their own front-end that accesses a common back-end?

Yes there is a front end with queries, reports and forms and a shared backend with tables

So it is the back-end that will only allow one user at a time, is that right?

They are all linked to the same backend - the problem appears to be with a shared frontend.
