Hey All,

I just upgraded my sister's motherboard and cpu. She has Windows XP Pro running on her Old HDD. She would like to get some of her files off of her HDD before its reformatted which needs to be done to install the new motherboard's drivers and remove the old ones. I put her HDD in my pc and set it up as the slave so I could access it. My question is, is there anyway to get at her files (such as her Documents folder) when her XP profile is password protected? I can view the drive fine and get at most of the files and folders on there. When I try to access her profile in the Document and Setting folder I get an access denied popup. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Hello Julian,
Enable file share with full access on the slaved drive.

Mainegeek,
Either I'm not doing that right or its not working. I right clicked on the Slave drive and went into sharing and security but it just says to drag the folder to the Shared Documents Folder. But thats not working. I still get accessed denied popup.

This is from the help section.

To share a drive or folder on the network
Open Windows Explorer, and then locate the drive or folder you want to share.
Right-click the drive or folder, and then click Sharing and Security.
If you are sharing a drive, on the Sharing tab, click If you understand the risk but still want to share the root of the drive, click here.
If you are sharing a folder, go to the next step.
Do one of the following:
If the Share this folder on the network check box is available, select the check box.
If the Share this folder on the network check box is unavailable, this computer is not on a network. If you would like to set up a home or small office network, click the Network Setup Wizard link and follow the instructions to turn on file sharing. Once file sharing is enabled, begin this procedure again.
