I just upgraded Gentran Server NT from 2.1 to 3.1.1. Everything was working fine until I altered a map. When the new map started generating errors I rolled back to the old map. Now the old map is not working correctly.

I read in the release notes that old maps by default had a compatibility option set to "TRUE", and new maps defaulted to "FALSE".

My theory is, when I recompiled my old map and registered it, Gentran set the compatibility to "FALSE" and it no longer functions the same way it did before.

Has anyone experienced this problem?
Does anyone know where/how to set the Map Compatibility option?

Any help, suggestions, thoughts welcome.

Thanks,

Hello Kevin,
Open the map and go to Edit/Details, there is a box marked "GENTRAN:Server for Windows NT 2.x Compatible Rule Execution". This box should be ticked if you want the map to behave as a version 2.x map. You will need to read the V3.1.1 readme file for answers to why the maps work differently and to understand what is required if you want to create maps which are not V2.x compatible. Basically there was a bug in the V2.x software which has been corrected in V3.x. By ticking the box above you basically compile with the bug in place.

Hugh.
