We currently have a Windows 2003 R2 32 bit running SQL 2005 32 bit with WSS 3.0.
I would like to upgrade this to SharePoint Foundation 2010.
I already have a Windows 2008 64 bit machine with SQL 2008 ready for this.

Does anyone have experience in this? I have read so many differnt things and some direction would be great.

Thanks,

i prefer the database migration approach..
basically the steps are:
1. install and configure sharepoint foundation server
2. take content db from wss 3 (detach, backup..)
3. add to sharepoint foundation through central administration..

that's all

Wow! You make it sound so easy. :)
Now I am going to have to try to dedicate sometime within the next week or so and try this out.
Thanks for the info and I will updated to how it goes.
