Upgrade Wizard

Hi All

I have a strange problem with the Upgrade Wizard for R7. If I try and upgrade an IP 500 V2 all the components show up in blue but the control unit is greyed out. I've reinstalled my laptop thinking it was a 64bit issue but I’m having the same problem with a 32bit OS.

Any ideas would be great.

Is it already running R7 then, have you checked the working directory is correct?

I upgraded the unit from another pc. The working directory is default.

what release does it show the control unit being?

When i got the control unit it was on 6.1. My desktop can upgrade the unit but not my laptop.

for some reason, when you want to upgrade the chassis, you need the Bin files and config files directory the same path.... check that....

I believe that within the folder containing the bin files there should also be a file called bin.cfg

I think this is used by the system to know which files are to be used by which modules.

My BIN file directory is pointing to the manager folder and the bin.cfg as well as the ip500v2.bin file is in the folder.

The BIN directory doesn't have to be the same as the cfg directory as my desktop is setup this way.

i have seen issues with upgrading when the .cfg working directory is different then the .bin working directory.
Set them the same and try again.

Got it working. Copied my ip500v2.bin file to my remote folder and I can now upgrade the control unit.
