Hi,
I have SQL 7 ruuning on an old server. Will install SQL 2000 Standard on my new server.
After I install 2000 on the new server, what is the best way to get the database copied over to the 2000 server?
SQL 7 uses merge replication. The book says "For databases involved in replication, a regular server upgrade is required; you cannot just use the Copy Database Wizard"
Can I not just copy the user tables over, then reconfigure the merge replication from scratch? Seems I would get a cleaner SQL 2000 database by doing it this way.
Any ideas?
Thanks, John
