Upgrade Upfront from 7.1 to 7.3 on Solaris

hello all. We're running the upgrade process on our content. The pack in 7.1 works fine and we have been able to upgrade it. However, when attempting to unpack we have hit problems. We use Solaris 8 servers and the unpack has been running for 3 days and appears to be 25% done. Cognos have unpacked using 7.3 onto a laptop in 3 hours.
We've tried writing to local drive, network drive - no difference. The CPU is running at about 3% so really it is not doing anything. Has anyone else experience of this task in this architecture?
