I attempted to upgrade a V1 UC Module from the latest 8.1 release to 10.1 service pack 1 but after all attempts still received a boot fail until I did a full install of 10.1 service pack 1. I then reloaded the Accounts, Names, and Greetings files but after doing so, although users were getting notifications of new messages, old messages were playing in their place. The way I fixed it was to remove the files I loaded into the Accounts folder and restart the services to create new Account folders. Also, possibly due to the changes in default Voicemail security settings users had to enter new 6 digit passwords after the re-install and after the wiping of the Accounts folders.
I have several similar upgrades from 8.1 and 9.0 systems with V1 UC Modules to 10.1 coming up and I am wondering if anyone has any tips on what I might be able to do differently to avoid such issues. Please and thank you.
