Need to replace a MK1032GAX 100GB 5400 RPM ATA-6 HD in a
Toshiba A75-S213 laptop.
Any suggestions about what upgrade drives might work in that machine?
Or likely problems locating a good drive? eBay??
Or hints about loosening the very tight screws on the outside door?
Or how to find answers without bothering you fine people?

Thanks.

geeks.com sells parts for older computers. Ebay will be cheaper, or Amazon, newegg if you can find a 2.5" IDE drive. The cover screws for the hdd door should not be super tight, but you need the right size driver otherwise you can strip the screws.

No problem locating a good drive (unless you buy a bad used one)
Don't know about the screws, just get a screwdriver that fits well
You're bothering us just fine.

It's just an IDE (PATA) 2.5" drive. Millions of them to be had.

I buy from New Egg, but any local store would have them too. Just specify PATA (not SATA) and 2.5" and you'll be fine.

Here is a site that will confirm what you need (not necessarily buy from there).
