Can I upgrade our BCM 200 Rel 3.0 to 6.0 with out replacing the hard drive?

No, actually I think the whole system will pretty much change because you'll really be going to a BCM 450.

You can upgrade all the way to an R6 but with that thing at 3.0 it may be more trouble than it's worth.

First, you would have to get it to 4.0 to be able to use the DMM tool.

Second, you would have to go through multiple upgrades to get it to 4.0. You would have to go to 3.5 first (i think), then to 3.6 or 3.7, then to 4.0. and hope that you don't run into problems with each one of those.

Third, you would need to migrate the data from the 400, swap out the current hardware for the new 450 hardware (which would include a new hard drive with R6 on it), then import the data with the DMM tool.

The chances of nothing going wrong in that scenario are slim to none.

I would think that you would be better off getting a new BCM50 R6 to replace that old thing and just reprogram it from scratch. It would take less time and probably be more accurate, with having both systems operating side by side.

Just have a look at the threads on here regarding the DMM tool. If that doesn't scare you, you're more brave than most on here.

Whatever you choose, good luck with it.
