Attempting to upgrade our lab IPO to R10, the upgrade itself was successful and the licenses are all saying valid but the ip phones are all saying No License Available and the SIP trunks are not working. There are also a few of the licenses that say Dormant, just wondering if anyone out there has experienced anything like this?

The end is near!

Do you have upgrade esential or full essential license?
Case 1 : you may need a full license if you have replaced the IP 500v2
Case 2 : you may need a upgrade license or replace the main unit with a new IP 500v2
Case 3 : oops, something else is wrong, no idea

The phones are telling you that you don't have a valid system license for Release 10.

Upgrading to R10 you need to migrate you licenses to PLDS if you were using ADI licenses - and you should do that before upgrading as any virtual licenses in your system will disappear post upgrade unless you go through the migration process.

And if already using PLDS you still need a new license file.

The PLDS XML license file contains an indication of which release it is for, effectively it is also its own upgrade license.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Sizbut, I did extract the xml file off the system prior to any upgrade and then received the LAC number, went out to the PLDS support page and downloaded the license file, below is what we have for licenses that I've loaded prior to the upgraded.

Make a copy of the XML file and open the copy in a text editor. Check that you see something like <version>10</version> near the top (if I recall correctly as nowhere near my work PC at the moment).

If this is an IP500 V2 (you haven't said) your screenshot doesn't show any Essential Edition or Preferred Edition licence. If its Server Edition it doesn't show any Server Edition license - unless of course your system was Basic Edition.

I'll give that a try when I'm back in the office. But it is a IP500 V2 and I know there was an Essential license installed when it was 9.1

The end is near!

No essential licence, that's why Preferred and User licences are dormant :)

Sizbut, I see nothing in the XML file that has <version>10</version>, and you are correct amriddleo1 no essential license.
Back to the drawing board as they say...Have some pink boys

oops... that reminded me to go an check I wasn't talking bullshit. Just checked and the PLDS file I was given yesterday to test WebLM includes the line <Version>10</Version> ...phew
