IE
Hi,

I'm in the process of upgrading some 1250 users to IE6 SP1, and I've found that doing so destroys their password cache. We have a web-based correspondance tracking system in Lotus Notes which requires passwords, and like all good users, they don't write them on post-it notes stuck to their monitors but rather check the "Remember my Password" box. Of course, this means that IE remembers their password so they don't have to.

My Lotus Notes admins don't want to have to reissue new passwords to all the users (I don't blame them here) and cos this is a corporate desktop environment we're not going to switch browsers, so "use Mozilla" is not an acceptable option.

Any ideas/suggestions???

My post has divulged only info about one single web based app for which security is not a consideration.

You cannot export, and then import the registry keys involved, they are protected by SYSTEM:

AutoComplete, User Names and Passwords on Forms:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

AutoComplete, Web Addresses:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider\<user SID>

You can however reveal them, and re-enter them:
