upgrade to AIX 5.1 ML09 : Filesets Requiring Software License Acceptan

I am upgrading an MCA machine from 5.1 ML05 to ML09 and I get the following error message :

Filesets Requiring Software License Acceptance

In AIX 5.1 there is no possibiliy to accept the licence terms.

The ML09 has 4 Additional requisites to be automatically installed :

as you can see : pci devices filesets on a MCA machine !!!


How can I get which filesets need this requisites ?
It must be a diag fileset perhaps.
How to install properly ML09 with ev. a workaround ?

I just set this to 'yes'

With "Install and Update from ALL Available Software" there is a field "ACCEPT new license agreements" but I do not want to install unneeded new filesets from the ML09 ...

Try to update just bos.rte.install to latest level first. I'm guessing that would update the smit install screens.

Not sure, but update_all would normally do that operation on it's own accord.

I tried the command line with the parameter '-Y' :

/usr/lib/instl/sm_inst installp_cmd -a -d '/mnt' -f '_update_all' '-c' '-N' '-g' '-X' -'Y'


and the update is going on now !!!

I'm confused - because the screen dumps I posted were from AIX 5.1 ML 7 and I'm pretty sure they've always been like that. I even get the same screen on my play box when rebuilt as a totally straightforward 'out-of-the-box' AIX 5.1 ML 3 install.

Any ideas out there?

after the ML09 applied the smit menu : Update Installed Software to Latest Level (Update All) shows now the field : ACCEPT new license agreements?

only installing bos.rte.install.5.1.0.66 from ML09 do not update the smit panel sorry
