Hello

Recently upgraded from 5.5 to 5.7 and now having problems with the merge forms. The Addess macro is not showing up. It will show up if the user has master rights, if the user dowsn't have master rights, you can't see the address in the merge form. These are

I have recreated this error w/Win2000 & xp using office 97 and 2000. I have tested the master rights detail on multiple PCs.

Does anyone have any idea why a user couldnt see macro data (&Address) in a word merge form?

The DDE link is [GoldMineLink()], is this different in 5.7?

I'll keep looking myself, any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Hi,

Shouldn't be any difference from 5.5 to 5.7, set the DDE link to [GMLink()] or remove it.

Did you upgrade the word links at the same time?

Richard.

Hi Richard

The error does not happen with 5.5. It only happens with 5.7. We have multiple exe's.

I tried the DDE link settings - GMlink(), GoldMineLink(), and blank.

"Did you upgrade the word links at the same time?"

What do you mean? Do they have to be upgraded one at a time?
How would I do this? Where did you get info on this?

I'm a little out of the loop on this feature, there is another guy here that takes care of the merge forms but this one has us stumped. Our sales staff uses merge forms all the time, so any help you can give is very appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Hello again, I wanted to add some more details that may be relevant.

Yes, the link was updated at the same time. But, our GM folder was copied locally, ran the update locally, then copied the files back to the network. Otherwise, the upgrade wouldn't work. It would just get 1/2 way through and stop without updating the version.

Everything else seems fine, except for this. The part I can't figure out is why I can see a GM Merge Form record if I have Master rights, but cannot see it if I don't. The macro is &Address.

We have the GM Link exe from frontrange and will try it again when everyone goes home.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Is the &Address not appearing as merged text or in the Insert GoldMine Field option? If the Insert GoldMine Field option can you make sure their scrolling down - its a bit below the first screen.

Richard.

Hello

The &Address is not appearing as merged text.

The macro can be added, but data does not appear. Yes, there was data in the address fields.

Thanks
