Upgrade to 4.10

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here as well as to MAS90. I'm helping out a friend who uses MAS for their payable/receivable ledgering. They got an upgrade to 4.1 but are still using 3.41(?). They also need a new computer so I was just going to load 4.1 on their new box and copy over all their history. Is that feasable? Their accountant wants to mirror their old box, install 4.1 and convert their history. Are the files not forward compatable??

First if you are a newbie to MAS DO NOT attempt an upgrade to 4.10 on your own. Leave this to their reseller. Actually the accountants idea is the best.

The file structure in 4.10 has changed drastically from 3.41 and you cannot do a jump from one to the other. Just to give you hint the resellers have to go to class to get certified to handle upgrades and here you are a newbie wanting to do it. I would say your chances of success are not good.

Plus I would go with 4.20 which is due out by the end of March.
