upgrade to 10.4

I'm runing 10.3.9, and have a full copy of 10.4 available. If I start the 'load from CD' it looks like it's going to do a full install, not an upgrade - will it? More relavently, will it trash my installed applications, or will it just to a OS update?
Any of santa's helpersknow the answer?

Look for Options/Archive and Install on the install CD/DVD

This will make a copy of your present System (titling it Previous System) and install a new 10.4 while retaining all your settings from your old system - saving you a lot of work - setting everything up again..
