Hi All

3300 CX1 on 8.0 soon to be upgraded

Mitel Standard Linux / 6000 MAS and of course Teleworker 4.0

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. The biggest issue at the moment is that I am unable to find the Teleworker 4.5 software on MOL. Any ideas where to find it ?

This is what I have so far from the release notes and I intent to follow these.

Rel 4.1 and earlier requires interim upgrade to 4.5 then 5.2 First

At Teleworker 4.5 need to backup MSL then fresh install of MSL 9.0 and restore

At MBG 5.2 we need to upgrade MSL to MSL 9.4

Prior to upgrading, a new FREE part number is required. Assign new part number to server from AMC. Upgrade from Standalone TW 4.5 to Standalone MBG 5.2 UR-1 requires Part # 54004578

I don’t think that they actually have what we now know as MAS because back in those days MAS was MSL they simply renamed MAS to MSL then released MAS as we now know it. CONFUSED ???? I was / am !!

An Upgrade from a pre-9.0 version of MSL to MSL 9.0 or 9.1 is not supported however upgrades from 9.0 to 9.1 are supported. If Moving From MSL 7.0, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4 Or 8.5 A Backup Of MSL To A USB Device Must Be Performed. MSL 9.0 / 9.1 MUST Be Installed Fresh With A Format Of The Hard Drive. The Backup May Then Be Restored When Asked For, After The Reboot.
An Upgrade Of The Managed Application Server Software From 6.1 Or Previous Is NOT Supported. MSL 8.2 MUST Be Installed Fresh With A Format Of The Hard Drive (and interim install of Teleworker 4.5).

Thanks

How many teleworker handsets are involved?

I would do screenshots of the old version web interface
Screenshots of the console configure this server

Then start with fresh install of MSL and a fresh MBG blade install
And hand reload it , theres not much in a MBG config wise and it would probably turn out to be quicker.

don't forget to make sure SWA is in place before you start
check the release notes of the versions in the middle to make sure any upgrade licenses have been added if required
( i don't think there are any unless you virtualise- sounds like you did this bit already 54004578 )

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks I have since came to the same conclusion. There are only 25 or so users

Agree with Billz66. Faster to just reprogram. Think you will need to get some transition licensing in the AMC to carry over licenses from TW to MBG.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Hi Guys and thanks for the input

Upgrade went well I simply built from scratch both MSL and MBG. I did have a problem burning the ISO for MSL 9.4 burned it slow and normal speeds and both were corrupt. So just burned the MSL 9.1 ISO and used service link to upgrade to 9.4
