Dear Tek-Tips techs,
I am working with a non-profit Organization in Papua New Guinea. Recently we got from a US Phone installer help with an installation of a Panasonic TDE-600 on our main support center in PNG. The installer bought the system in the US and he voluntary installed it here to help us. Now we would like to extend it with a PRI30 trunk to a local phone company. However, our phone system comes from the US and has a US region lock. It is not able to handle the PRI30 trunk, just the PRI23 (that is useless in PNG ). It is “just” a software/firmware problem, but it stops us to extend our phone system with trunks to the Telco’s in country. Our installer and we were not aware of the region lock and now we are sitting on a switch that we can’t fully use. I am wondering if a Panasonic reseller could sell me a MPR card upgrade to a non US version? I know this is a very unusual request, but I don’t know what I should do else.
