Upgrade Supervisor Software

I need to upgrade the Supervisor Engine software on my Cat5500.

I have the Supervisor Engine III (WS-X5530) model and am currently using sofware release 4.5(1). I need to upgrade to 4.5(3) and am confused as to how to go about this.

If anyone could give me a step by step guide I would be most grateful

Dan- for your peace of mind.. get a flash card.. beg or borrow one. If you have no flash and the upgrade goes badly (like mine did) there is not a way to recovery unlike the other types of Sups... although.. if you have the newest firmware.. which I did not.. you can try to upload the code via xmodem and the console cable.

The easy way is to use the flashcard.. use slot1.. you need to change some parameters..

You can do this on the systemflash... just be careful. In my case, the IOS (4.5(10) )I tried to use was buggy and would not boot. After I called Cisco about it, the IOS disappeared from their site within a day or so .... I've not checked to see if it's back.
