I have four Intranetware 4.11 servers. I need to move one of the servers (POS) to a better piece of hardware. If I build the new server into the tree and name it NEWPOS, can I change the name of the new box to POS when I am finished with the old box (POS)? How will the tree be affected?

This box is not and will be the primary NDS box.

Thanks

Dang, wish they had that TID when I had to figure this crap out. It's right on the money for the exact steps with one exception, I liked to backup the DOS partition and restore it onto the new partition on the new hardware..

Doing this allowed me to use hardware newer that 4.11 technology. Most drivers give you public symbol errors when you load them, you need the patches. There is a base set of three or 4 files for the sp9 patch kit that runs from the DOS partition. Make sure these load, then your install will work correctly.

If you do it the wire way, not the tape way .. be sure to run TBACKUP to get a backup of user trustie rights. Using the consolodation wizard may be easier, but I'm not sure if it works with 4.11, it might. Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +
