Upgrade SBS2000 to Windows 2000 Server

Has anyone upgraded their SBS2000 server to Windows 2000.
Microsoft do a 'migration pack' for such purposes.

My question is what happens to AD and users mailboxes?
I cannot afford any downtime for our remote users who 'live and breathe' on Exchange.
It would be a mammoth task to get the users back to the office to re-sync OST files.
