Hi all,
I've done many upgrades in the past but I've never had to to an upgrade of a Co-Resident System. I'm moving from Rls 7.5 to 7.6. These are the steps I'm planning to take. Let me know if any of you guys have done an upgrade like this and what to look out for?

1. Backup my call server data and Linux.
2. Upgrade the Linux Base.
3. Upload the 7.6 nai file to the deployment manager.
4. From deployment manager select the site and select upgrade. I'm hoping all the Avaya applications are re-installed and its asks me for the new keycode.
5. Apply all the necessary patches to the Linux CPDC.
6. Patch the CallServer.

Is there anything I should pay attention to especially with the security server?

Best regards
Terry

I have never used the Upgrade in Deployment Manager. I would just do a fresh install of the 7.6 linux, install the base patches, then deploy. Typically you would deploy CS/SS/EM and NRS if you are using it. It should ask you for the database and keycode during deployment. Then after that install the SP. You will also need to upgrade the MGC loadware and rejoin them to UCM. That is how I have always done it. Keep in mind also those MGC's can be flakey and you may have do default them to the Gold Image. Make sure you also have the latest loadware for the MGC's Lastly patch the call server with the ntl file

I've actually never used the deployment manager to do an upgrade. I feel I might take your advice. I would feel more comfortable doing a clean install and load the database. I know the MGC can have issues, but I had so many I know how to resolve if I encounter.

The only applications running on this CPDC will be the SS/CS and EM.

NRS and SM run on a dedicated CDPC (primary security server).

Thanks.

If you can find a spare hard drive and have a spare CPDC you could do a lot of the upgrade ahead of time. You just wont be able to deploy because you will need the dongle. Good luck
