Our server is NT 4.0 with BackOffice 4.0 installed on it. We only really use the Exchange Server portion of it.
We would like to upgrade to Win2k Server and leave Exchange Server at 5.5 for now.
During the upgrade process, it says that BackOffice4.0 is not compatible with Win2k Server. It says we can uninstall BackOffice Server from the Add/Remove Programs and it will leave the "applications."
I am too scared to try this without verification. If we uninstalled our Exchange Server, I would be totally screwed in trying to recover it.
Additionally, we are running only the first Service Pack for Exchange Server. The Upgrade warning says we need to install at least Service Pack 3 or Exchange Server won't work with Win2k Server either.
Can anyone suggest a step-by-step path for me to take please? I can't afford to mess this up, and I couldn't find anything on Microsoft's Knowledge Base or TechNet that was directly applicable to my problem.
Thank you in advance!
