uPGRADE pROCESSOR DRIVER

Hi there,

To solve a timing issue with a database application (SAP) I have been asked to upgrade the processor driver (on the sap server) to the latest version.

I think I have downloaded the latest driver for the processors in my server (AMD 2220 processors there are four)

Have any of you ever upgraded a processor driver? Is it quite a safe procedure?

I have never heard of upgrading a processor driver before. ARe you talking about a BIOS update on the motherboard?

Actually I have had to do this on a Sun AMD Opteron box which was really AMD motherboard driver to take care of certain interrupt problems which could cause the server to shutdown under certain conditions
My recommendation is to apply only if approved by the vendor and not just because it is avail from AMD

You know what I was thinking the same..."how the heck do you upgrade a processor driver" (but I'm never afarid to ask a "dumb" question).
The SAP website advises "Install the latest processor drivers for your CPU.....".....so here I am. I did find the AMD site and it seems to have the driver
