We need more capacity than available with our Callpilot 100 (40 mailboxes) and replace it with a Callpilot 150.

Can we backup the 100, install the 150 and then safely perform a restore using the BRU utility?
or
Do we need to prepare our users to lose voicemail and reconfigure from scratch once the 150 is installed?

Thanks for the response. We understand expanding the number of voicemail boxes requires new equip and new authorization codes. We're wondering if we have to re-enter names and extension, record names and personal greetings, say 'adios' to stored messages, and such.

Since the Callpilot 100 (our existing appliance) and the Callpilot 150 (the new unit) use the same BRU utility, we'd like to know if we can restore the CallPilot 100 backup to the 150. That would save a bit of work (and consternation) if it's possible. However, we don't want to experiment. It would be bad if our new 150 lost it's auth codes or had it's config otherwise scrambled as the result of a misguided attempt to be efficient.

back up from cp100 and restore to cp150 will not work (at least that's what the book says)
you will need to do everything from scatch, as if it is a brand new install (keycodes and such)
