upgrade procedure from a ip office v1 release 4 to release 8.1 1

Have a dead ip office v1 box, have replacement box currently at version 4, Please what are the upgrade steps to get to version 8.1, I do have a new essential license for this upgrade.

from what I could research it looks like I need to 1st go to version 6, then to version 8.0 then to version 8.1, is this correct? just want to be sure, Thanks so much

forget the multi stage upgrades it is only needed if you have a cfg in place that you wish to keep working.
go straight to V8.1
erase cfg to reset the box to defaults, then restore your backup cfg


A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I do have a customer config in place so do I need to do the 3 stage upgrade? Thanks for helping as is most appreciated

how can you have a cfg if you are replacing a dead box.

you have a backup cfg but the replacement box needs to be defaulted before you upload it
wait until after the firmware upgrade before performing these last two steps

(although the 3 stage upgrade wont cause any harm, just waste your time)
