Installing supported upgrade. With 24% remaining install asked for Disk 2, install.exe file. Inserted Disk 2 but no install.exe file was there. I suspect Disk 2 contains the R2 installation and possibly some Admin tools that I can install later. If I cancel this window will I find the basic upgrade to Enterprise done or will I be left with having to do a clean install?

I am stuck in the middle. I would really like to avoid a clean install if I can. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Well i dont want to give you bad advice so maybe you should wait for more responses before you act. I havent done an in place upgrade from standard to enterprise before either. However i have done fresh installs of both, and if you cancel the install when it asks for the 2nd disc it will tell you the 2nd disc can be installed later and everything works fine.

I have done an in place upgrade and there is a point when it asks for Disk 2, then it seems to ask for or is looking for install.exe. What I did was reinserted the first CD and it found the install.exe and then in a bit it asked for CD2 and moved on from there. I think this is a bug in Microsoft upgrade path.

Thanks guys. I cancelled the action and the upgrade continued and finished. When I rebooted the installer asked for disc 2 to finish the R2 installation. I installed that, rebooted and everything was fine.
