Upgrade performance suggestions

I currently have two 2 Maxtor SATA 7200 80 GB 8mb cache Hard Drives in raid 0 on a Highpoint RocketRaid 1540 controller. I'm running out of hd space and I wanted to know what you suggestions would be. Obviously I need more space, but if possible I would like to increase performance as well.

do you think it would be better to get another 80 gb maxtor and have three drives in raid 0 or get a raptor and run my os on it? I don't want to spend too much money and for the price of a rapter I could buy two my 80gb maxtors and have 4 hd's in stripe 0.

any suggestions out there?

the more disks being striped to the better the seek times and therefore the better the performance me thinks!

A couple of WD 72GB Raptors raided with a third large 250GB Caviar just for storage would be my choice.

To correct Daire, Raid 0, 0+1, or 1 arrays do not help seek times. To gain a noticable performance gain by way of Hard Drive upgradeing, i agree with paparazi. Those new 10k rpm WD are amazing. However, 2 raptors will cost around $225 a piece. If I were you, I would buy a single 120-250 gig hd and use it for storage and save up for a 939 pin socket AMD setup.
