Is there a document put out by Avaya on the upgrade path from Legend to Magix? I've looked but haven't been able to find it. We have a customer that wants to go from Legend R4.0 to Magix 3.0, and I want to know as well as be able to tell the customer the pros and cons. Thanks In Advance.

CONS, NONE !

PROS - A TON !

Just look at the features from 1 to the other.

How 'bout CALL SCREENING - Now you can listen to someone leaving a Voice Mail Message, and either let it go to VM or intercept it.

NOT WITH LEGEND R4.0 - YES WITH MAGIX 3.0.

SO many other goodies...(Hot Dial Pad, Intercom Voice to IDLE ONLY ! .....)

Just too many to list...

What does this customer want to do, and why does he think he wants to migrate?

Perhaps that could give us a hint as to what features the Magix 3.0 has over the Legend 4.0.

Of course, this would require a new Processor.

Their existing programming can be kept (unless they have some ATL sets).

Merlinman - As I got this project about a half hour before I left the office, I was able to dial into the system and take a quick look, as well as get a bit of info from the customer. They're using copper DID trunks, as well as CO's along with a T1 for LD. They want to go to ISDN PRI, and they already have a 100D in the system. I know they'll need a CKE5 processor, as well as a new power supply correct? I didn't see any ATL modules, so I'm thankful for that. Anything else to look for as far as something that may trip me up? I've done a few upgrades on Legends going to R7.0, what are the subtle differences?

There are seveal, but the best bet would be to look at a Legend R7 Pocket reference and a Magix R3 pocket reference then compare all the changes from R4 Legend to R4 Magix.

By R4 MOST of the PRI stuff was plugged in, BUT the R3 Magix allows better switch to switch networking.
