Upgrade Path for NEC IPK to SV8100, SV9100 ?

Can anybody please comment on a possible upgrade path from an old NEC IPK-I installation to a later NEC switch?
I was told that in some cases it's possible to continue using the PBX station units with an upgrade to the SV8100.
If anyone is interested in making me a quote here is the current configuration:
IPK-1 in two cabinets.
48 ESI / PBX stations
40 SLI stations
T1 with 8 DID trunk.
Elite Mail (4)

Thanks for reading this post.

Completely different cabinets, none of the cards/blades can be used between the IPK and the SV platforms. If you had an SV8100, some blades can be used in the SV9100 if you have the upgrade license.

For the phones, NEC has a terminal compatible list to show which models work between the platforms.

Your best bet is finding a used system. A LOT SV8100's are out there. You just need to make sure you have the licensing for all those ports(SV8100 you are looking for a 256 processor). SV8100 seems to take most cards UX as well and doesn't need that upgrade license to get them to work. Def a 2 cabinet system.

Thanks for the replys.
As I understand it NEC is discontinuing the SV9100 and will be only be accepting purchase orders until the end of this year (2024)

If we were going to stick with an on-premise system and keep our Cat 3 cabling, what switch can you recommend ?

Not a lot of systems that will support digital phones. Going to really limit your options. That's why I suggested a used 8100. Pick them up cheap and there will be parts for years. But, if you are using analog and you have enough cat5 for the admin/nurse phones, Zultys has an on premise system as well as hosted.

NVT Phybridge's PoLRE product is nice too if recabling for voip is not an option and you want to go with a brand new voip system. It uses existing single pair phone wire and an adapter at the phone side to convert it from a single pair into Ethernet. I've not used them before, but I've heard good things. I know they are a little pricey, but less pricey than rewiring a building.

Avaya IP office, Vertical Summit or Wave (rebranded LG iPECS) are the only systems that I know of that still supports digital sets that are currently sold as new and have not yet been announced EOL like NEC.

Hey thanks for the suggestions.

CoralTech: I just received a quote to replace this current IPK system with an NEC SV9100 system.
All the components are used except the CPU will be new CP20 BLADE - SD-B2 8 GIG SD Card with INMAIL.
The quote comes in a little under $10K and I'm thinking that looks OK to me.

I know that some of these used components can be had cheaper on eBay, etc. but this stuff is already so cheap
that it's not unreasonable. And this quote includes all the programming and 90 days of remote support by the NEC dealer.
It seems there will be plenty of used parts available for years to come and if the SV9100 is reliable as the old IPK then
I'm not at all worried.

Does it seem reasonable to you ?

SV9100 CP20 will be supported until 2030 with a current SWA. You have to have this done before Dec 31 this year.
