Since upgrading 2 of our Netware 4.11 servers to Netware 5.1, users of these
servers who run Filemaker Pro are complaining that the servers are running slow, particularly over ip but ok when connecting via ipx
Both the servers are patched to service pack NW5p1sp3 and the filesys.nlm patch
Newly built Netware 5.1 servers run ok
Can anyone suggest a start point for investigation
Bothe servers are Dell Poweredge 4300/3350 with 1gb memory and raid 5 scsi drives

Thanks in advance

Dave

Have you set "File Caching Enabled = Off" on both servers (put in STARTUP.NCF as well?

This may resolve the issue ...

Thanks for the info - however when I try to input the set command at the console, it comes up as unknown paarmeter. Is the comand only vaild when run from startup.ncf ??

Command should read:

set client file caching enabled = off

and should also be added to STARTUP.NCF

set client file caching enabled = off
The parameter is already set to off - any other thoughts gratefully received
