I want to upgrade the microcode for the modem (MICA-6DM) module on my 3640 Router so that it can operate at 56K .

I have uploaded the file sent to me by my vendor named MICA-modem-pw_2_1_0_7.bin .( I don't know if this is the original name) using TFTP to flash. But don't know how to implement it.
It is obviously not a full IOS with a feature set as it is on 387K (against 5.5 meg existing)so I don't want to 'Boot System Flash' it , but how do I invoke it???

I have done just the same. There is nothing that you have to do just, reload your router. Then issue a command
sh ver
and you will see someting like
MICA-6DM Firmware: CP ver 2107 - date SP ver 2107 - date
where ver stands for version of the mica software used.

I have version 2.7.20 and size is 468984 bytes.

Should have replied to this myself ! No it didn't work when I just put the code up and not changing anything else (even after reloading). I had to clear flash first . So I re- TFTP'd the IOS (erasing flash in the process) and then re- TFTP'd the microcode and then the Reload worked. I'm glad we pay our 3rd party support so much !!!! (They were no help)
