upgrade magix 2.o to 4.o

can some please post the upgrade instructions for a pcmcia card. i have looked on the web but can not find it. when i go under upgrade in maintenance the system does the card check and then tells me that there are 2 different releases.

If you are trying to upgrade from Magix R2 to R4 - when you get the screen that shows the two available releases - just press the F10 key twice (if in WinSPM) or the bottom right ket at the 20L display - to proceed with the upgrade.

Just remember that the upgrade process will do a Full Erase restart after the upgrade - so ALL programming will be erased.

Hopefully - you have made a backup of the existing programming to WinSPM - and upgraded/converted that backup to the newer Magix R4 version. You will need this "converted" file to backup programming - once the processor has been upgraded to R4

CAN YOU TELLME DO YOU SHUT THE SYSTEM DOWN AND INSERT THE 4.0 CARD OR DOD YOU DO IT WITH THE SYSTEM LIVE?

You can insert the card with the system "live" and remove it as well to replace the upgrade card with the normal backup card.

HEY THANK YOU FOR THE INFO. P.S. IT WORKED JUST FINE.

MAYBE YOU CAN TELL ME SOMETHING ELSE. AFTER I DID THE UP GRADE I RECONNECT MY WINSPM AND DID A BACK UP OF THE NEWLY CONVERTED AND RESTORED FILE AN AND THEN I WENT TO DO A BACK UP RIGHT FROM THE SYSTEM AND IT SAID "INSERTED MENORY CARD IS NOT THE CORRECT TYPE. DO YOU WANT IT FORMATTED? YES OR NO?"

SHOULD I TAKE THIS UPGRADE CARD OUT OF THE SYSTEM AND REINSERT THE OLD CARD BACK IN?

THE OLD CARD IS A "MERLIN TRANSLATION CARD 2 MEGABYTE FOR CKE5 AND LATER" IT ALSO CAN BE FLIPED OVER AND USED FOR CKE4 AND EARLIER.


THE NEW CARD IS A "MERLIN MAGIX ONE TIME UPGRADE CARD 4 MEGABYTE r4.0 - V 7.0" IT IS ALSO FOR CKE5 AND LATER


JUST TRYING TO GIVE A MUCH INFO AS POSSIABLE
