We are upgrading our Legend 6.1 to Magix 4.0. We already done the back-up and convertion in WinSPM r9. We installed the plastic shell with the CKE5 processor to the "legend" carrier. Once we try to restore, we get the message "Board Mismatch (4)" and it doesn't restore. What are we doing wrong?

Thanks

After you installed the new processor did you do a board renumber - prior to doing the restore attempt? If not, do that first. Then connect and try the restore from WinSPM.

It sounds like you started with a NOT DEFAULTED processor.

First, do a COMPLETE ERASE of the NEW PROCESSOR,

BRING IT UP WITH NO CARDS INSTALLED,

Then do your RESTORE.

If this doesn't work, re-post.

We did a complete erase prior to the upgrade. We did the steps you recommended, we get a "restore complete" message, but when the system reboots, it doesn't have our translations. We put the cards back in, and when we try to connect back to the system, we notice that it says "Surragote mode".

Thanks

The processor is in "surrogate" mode because it was defaulted with no cards in place. I would do a "frigid" start with all of the cards in place - then try to do a backup from WinSPM. You can force a "frigid" start by removing the battery jumper on the processor (just below the capacitors) for a minute or so and then reinstalling it. Reinstall the processor and fire it up with all the modules in place. The modules need to be exactly in the same slots that they were in with the old processor - no switching allowed - or the translated backup will not work.

SUCCESS.

The problem was in the processor. There are "dip" switches in the back of the processor, and those were set to key mode only. Go figure, thank you all for your input.
