Hey Folks,

I am looking to upgrade and IP500V2 on 6.0 to 10.1.

My understanding is that I can upgrade to 8.0 to generate a virtual Essential edition and then to 10.1. Is this the best way? Do we need 2 licenses to perform the 2 upgrades or just don't allow any calls to be made between upgrades?
Should I just get a new IP500V2 with an essential license and do a dongle swap for the existing licenses?

Thanks

Mike

I believe you have to go to R7 first, then the upgrade to 8.0 generates the virtual license. The virtual license is tied to the control unit and if it dies then you need the real thing. Easiest/best way is to get a new 500V2 with an essential license and swap their licensing over. That way is much faster, easier for you, and better for the customer.
